3 years ago today... and never a lost memory.

It has been three years since Dad passed away due to cancer. A day never goes by that I can't hear his voice or ponder on a memory of him or a lesson that he taught me or the sacrafices he made for me, or how much he blessed my life. More importantly is the love and friendship that we have is something that I cherish. The greatest blessing was seeing the atonement of Christ in his life and how it changed him.
The other day I read this quote and it gives me hope, but also made me think of Dad.
A Glorious Future
"The things we hope for are often future events. If only we could look beyond the horizon of mortality into what awaits us beyond this life. Is it possible to imagine a more glorious future than the one prepared for us by our Heavenly Father? Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we need not fear, for we will live forever, never to taste of death again. Because of His infinite Atonement, we can be cleansed of sin and stand pure and holy before the judgment bar. The Savior is the Author of our Salvation."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "The Infinite Power of Hope," Ensign, Nov. 2008, 22
I look forward to that Glorious Future!
Dad went back to the temple before he died.

I need to correct you Todd. I was not there when Dad went through the temple and I think it was 1 month to the date of his passing. I so wish that I could have been there to see him all in white. I guess my time will come when I will get to see him all in white.
What a great tribute that you gave dad. He was a great man and and amazing grandfather.

Todd that is a very sweet quote. I love how amazing to have the Knowledge that we will get to see those loved ones again. I don't know what I would do without this Gospel. And its awesome that your Dad was able to go through the Temple, The Temple is such an amazing place and I am glad he was able to go. Such a blessing not only for him but for all of you.

Thanks for sharing. We all miss Dad soo much. The atonement of Christ fills that void that exists, and we know we will be reunited with him as a family. Keep the faith. The words Dad expressed that day still echo in my mind "I made it... you don't need to wait for me any longer." Thank you Dad for making the ultimate sacrifice for your family.

Todd, that was a wonderful tribute you wrote for your Dad. I am so grateful that you have such great memories of him. Your dad was a great man and wonderful father, grandfather, and husband. It is to bad that we wait until we loose our loved ones before we realize how much we love them and how much they mean to us. I am thankful that Dave returned to the temple before he passed away. I miss him more than any of you can imagine.

I have appreciated all of your support over the past 3 years.
