Getting Cold!

So it normally doesn't get this cold in Arizona in October.

Yesterday morning I had Carter run some things out to the garbage for me, when he came back in he said:

"Mom, its freezing out there I about turned into an icicle, and I think its going to snow."

Then that evening, in honor of our cold front weather I made chili cheese dogs for dinner. I guess we haven't had these in a while because when I put Tanners plate in front of him, he says with a huge excited sigh:

"Ohhhhh, sweeeet mamma!"

Pumpkins and visitors and motorcycles oh my!

Oh how excited my boys were to carve pumpkins this year. I will post pictures later of them all lit up. Our girl is all about the stairs these days.

Tanner picked out a template of bats and Carter picked out the scariest face he could find.

We got invited to a haunted house, actually it was a haunted wash through the desert. So fun, this was the path leading up to the front.

As we got to the entrance doors, the boys got scared, so friends took our kids back and Todd and I went through. If you know me well, I don't do scary movies or anything remotely close to terrifying me. Since this was kids I knew doing the scaring I figured I would live. A little jumpy and screamy we made it through. They did a fantastic job. There were two fire pits at the front where we roasted marshmellows.

TRENT AND CANDICE VISIT TUCSON

Todd bought a motorcyle on ksl in Utah. My brother was nice enough to bring it down and come for a visit. (Thank you Sam & Pyper for loaning us your trailer)

My kids were so excited they couldn't sleep the night before.

Trent helped them hang spider web outside in the courtyard.

I bought this halloween costume for Cali next year and it fits Kinnedi perfect.

Trent and Candice took the kids to Old Tucson. I had had some leg surgery so I stayed behind with Cali, but I am so grateful for all their help!

No get together with the Mons is complete without a little rock band. And "yes" Trent I think your tractors sexy, your singing not so much. LOL

Trent making us a little shish-ca-bob dinner. Yum!

A bought a legos set for the guys to put together. Trent is a major legos fanatic.

THE MOTORCYCLE

On to the highlight of Todds past two weeks. Lately he comes home with a smile on his face and a spring in his step. He has promised not to die so I'm going to try not to worry about him wrecking. Plus don't I look hot on the back! (this is a total joke between Todd and I)

And, if you think Todd is excited about it, just imagine how his kids love it. When he pulls in the garage at night the kids open the door and he revs the engine, then they all giggle like little girls.

Another one of his leading ladies looking pretty hot on the bike. No literally I mean we were low 90's this day and it was hot!

It was the primary program this past Sunday. The boys did great and they got to wear new suits, it was a very black and white dress day!
Such sweet kids!

Here's a little taste of Todd in action...

Our girl turns 1!

This year has gone by so quickly. We just adore this little girl and had fun celebrating her first birthday!

That morning I took her to Walmart and we headed down the never before traveled girl aisle. I took 4-5 dolls off the shelf and put them in the cart with her. We played for about 45 minutes with dolls down this aisle until I knew she liked the crawling talking doll the best. She would, it was the most expensive one. Oh how she loves this doll!

On to the cake! Cali is so like her parents, the chocolate force is strong with this one!

Happy First Birthday Cali!

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?

So this morning as I was getting ready I hear the boys on the stair talking. I walk to the top and they don't see me standing there. I hear Tanner say to Carter:
"Move out of my way I'm going to ask mom if I can have a cookie!"
Carter completely disgusted:
"Tanner if you go up and tell her I'll get in trouble and you won't be able to have one anyways, we just won't tell her."

Tanner looks up as Carter is saying this and says "Carter mom is right behind you."

Carter very sheepishly turns around, "Oh hey mom."
Game over, sorry boys no cookies at 7:00 in the morning. They did however get to take one in their lunch today.
So mischievous! The Mons house if full of a bunch of cookie monsters, myself included.

Squishy Snake

So, last night the kids and I were heading home from a friends house. We turn into our neighborhood and there next to the round about leading to my house is a huge snake like the picture above, I think really bigger actually. I pull up really close and turn on the brights, the kids get out of their seat belts and we look at it and decide that it is still alive. We back up and I run the thing over, as we go over the bump we all scream, now just to be sure I drive around the round about 2 more times and run the sucker over. Whew, that felt good but freaked me out at the same time.

We get home and Todd has already gotten home from the priesthood session. I tell him, get in the car I have to show you the rattle snake we just ran over. He says, "yeah Jess I seen it and it looks like it was already dead, and I thought to myself I bet Jess runs that snake over on her way home." Boy was he right, and I am pretty sure it was still alive.

I'm hoping it will be another year before I see another one!
