2009 Summer Utah Trip

We had an awesome trip back to Utah. It started off at the 4th of July breakfast in the ward that Todd and I grew up in.
Ealier that morning Trent and Todd partcipated in the West Jordan 10K. Click the link below to see who won. Just remember Todd will be 34 next month and Trent is still a young-whipper-snapper at age 25. (Hint, Trent's name comes after Todd's).

Cali giving Kelsey a little sleepy snuggle.
After we went to Grandma and Grandpa Carters house for an afternoon BBQ.

Its Grandma Carters tradition (yes Kelsey tradition) to get the kids parachute fireworks and set them off in the backyard. The race is on to see if you can catch one.
Trents new Samari Jeep. His seat is secure as the coolest uncle now.

A little firework action. Sparklers for the kids and more illegal stuff for the big boys.

Rock band is quickly becoming our families favorite past time each time we visit. Its safe to say that none of us will be trying out for American Idol any time soon.

Stacy and Garrett's new baby Hayden was blessed that Sunday. Such a sweet little guy.

We threw my mom a surprise 50th birthday party. We also made her a sweet video showing memories through the years.

What handsome guys, if Ruby and I do say so ourselves. Enjoying some more fireworks.

Second generation showing off their guns, hopefully in 30 years they will be the ones pulling off the shingles.
Glad I had tickets to this father son gun show duo.

Another new little nephew, Cameron, Kari and Kevins new little guy.

What can I say, the Mons make cute girls.
I can't remember the name of this brazillian restuarant at the gateway, but it is offically on my list of must do's every time we visit from now on.

Some of my favorite ladies. Its a blessing to have such awesome sister-in-laws.

Introducing the Mons to rock band. Robyn did a rendition of a rap song that I will not soon forget.
Visiting the open house of the new Oquirrah Mountain Temple. Beautiful!

Silver Lake walk with the Mons clan.

Trent took Todd and the boys jeepin' in the west desert.

Candice was so sweet to watch our kids one morning while Todd and I went to the temple. While we were gone she had them make pirate gear and took them on a treasure hunt. Candice and Trent, also a HUGE thank you for letting us stay at your home, such great hosts.

Spending a lot of time in the mountains, we hiked up to Donut Falls.

Cali had a sweet ride.

The twins and thier girly girls, each wrapped around their dads little finger.

I guess its a Mons tradition to stop at this mountain along the side of the road and get a drink. That's not all we got, I got out to take a picture Todd threw water on Tyler then ran, then Tyler hucked water and I got soaked, I was just their to get the picture.
Stopping at the cemetery to see Grandpas grave.

Tiffany and Justin just moved up to Vernal. They have such a cute new home.

We celebrated Carter and Zack's birthdays.

Usually the guys go on a bros no ho's trip. Since Justin lives so close to the Green River, we just bunked down there. The guys tied flies into the night, and in the morning headed out to fish.

Carter and Jace play ball.

Sunday afernoon we dropped Todd off at the aiport on the way back from Vernal. I took the kids to Temple Square.

Sunday night we walked around the Day Break Lake.

Half way around the Lake Trent discovered a big rock my dad had slid into the pack with Kinnedi.

Grandma Carter taught Cali patti-cake, honestly she had never clapped her hands before then. Don't worry mom it went into the baby book.

Dicks in Kamas is one of my all time favorite places to eat.

After we drove up and walked around Mirror lake with my parents.

Such a nice day.

Carter was so tired after, he couldn't even make it into the house.

Our Martha Stewart moment, we picked apricots from my parents tree and made jam.

Stacy and my long awaited trip to see the new Harry Potter movie. Its one of those movies like Star Wars that people clap for at the end, love it.

Swimming at Great-Grandma Lavons pool, always a must.

She made us a nice lunch and we had a good visit.

Kelseys is on the tennis team at school. She thought she could teach us some technique. For the record I think she was a bit frustrated. I love to wach tennis on TV, how hard could it be, you just hit the ball over the net. Shockingly there is more to it than that, I need some major practice.

Saying goodbye the night before we had to go. As with tradition, well starting last year, we go see Kelsey at work and get rootbeer floats.

Looks like you had a great trip. I've still been to lazy to upload and post any pics from our trip! I love the picture of Tanner holding Cali on the grass...so cute! I also like the "bro's, no ho's trip" part, that made me laugh! We need to get together soon and hang out!
