Pinewood Derby

Derby Time! Here are the competetors... Tanners is the one with red wheels.

Get Set....

Go...! Tanners car took 1st place out of the Wolfs and the Bears! Add in those seasoned Webelos and he took home a 3rd place trophy! Good job buddy! Todd kept telling Tanner not to expect to much the first year, but we were all pleasantly surprised!

Before going to this I had NO idea that a "pinewood derby" was so technical. I thought we would run them down once, race the winner and done. Not so, we were there for over 2 hours. My favorite part was watching the DADS walk in with the cars and have them weighed then add more things to them. Then to watch the dads watch the cars race with as much anticipation as the boys.

Finally yummy dessert. I thought I would post these cupcakes for any moms having to come up with a cute dessert.

Tanner also earned his "bobcat" award. Todd being the cubmaster did a face painting ceremony. I'm all about a man in a sexy uniform, but I gotta say: the scout uniform doesn't do much for me. I still think you are sexy though Todd!


In other Arizona news:

we have had some wet, wet, wet weather this past week.

Wet down low, snow up high. Right where I like it, close enough to see it, far enough I don't feel it!

Very pretty though!
