A Sunny Saturday

Last Saturday:
5:35 am - kids jumping on our bed. Todd of course was already up. Me not so much.
6:00 am - Todd coming back in after getting the kids breakfast to see if I'm ready to go on a family hike. I'm like "ummm, no not yet." Hello, its Saturday lets sleep past 6, its a killer I know. So Todd tells me he's taking the boys to the park to play some baseball. Ok, whatever man knock yourself out.
7:30 - Todd coming back in with the kids"Jess I thought you would be ready to head out." No rest for the weary, I guess 7:30 at the Mons home is sleeping in, sadly its so true.

So away we went. We went on a trail not far from our house called Honey Bee Trail.

This sight made me a little nervous for the precious cargo on Todds back. And, no that's not just a cute hat, my Cali is under there somewhere.

It was just one of those really great weekends where I reflected a lot on how thankful I am for my family and just how much fun we have together.
With sand in our shoes and tired kids in tow we head back to the car. Todd was laughing at me throughout the hike, I'm a bit jumpy. Rattlesnakes are out and I just knew there were cougars staking us out, behind the bushy cacti.

This is the time of year that the cactus' are in bloom. I can't wait to post pictures of them when they are in full bloom, they are really pretty.

This is the scariest predator that we seen on our hike. Thank goodness!

Where is that trail? That looks like a definite must try. P.S. How did you like having a day without the boys?
